Moving on with the Movies

Welcome, welcome, it is time for some movie talk.

Seen Inception? Definitely best movie I've seen in a loooooong time. Let me rephrase that: Best *new* movie I've seen in a loooooong time. I've seen some really good old movies too! But, I must say if any summer needed a breath of fresh air, it was Summer 2010. It has been one of the weakest summers for the film industry in years. Thankfully, the movie mastermind behind Inception (Christopher Nolan) is also the brains behind Memento, The Prestige, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and many more. Let's face it, the man is a genius. I mean it, a genuine genius. He makes movies that make people think and see it many more times just to try and understand it. He is, as the British say, "brilliant" and I can't agree more.

The only bad reviews that Inception was given were "I didn't understand it." or "It was over-rated"

Idiots. All of them.

Anyways, if you want a cutesy movie to take you kids to see then head right on over to "Despicable Me" brought to us by Illuminations (newbies to the animation biz). It was cute and I want a minion.

Also, a new movie released last weekend was Charlie St. Cloud, starring Tro-- I mean Zac Efron who goes and plays baseball with his dead brother after a "graphic" accident scene. Then Troy Bolton meets the "boat girl". Anyways, I recommend people see it just because.

New this weekend we have The Other Guys and Step Up 3! I have low hopes for the Other Guys, I don't think that Marky-Mark is the greatest comedian, but that is just me and well, frankly, Will Ferrell always seems to disappoint since whatever his last movie after Elf was.

Next in the starting line-up we have, Step Up 3D or Step Up 3, brought to us by Jon M Chu, choreographer for that dance group (AC/DC or Adam Chu Dance Crew) I've heard that SU3 wasn't the best for plot lines but the dancing was amazing and watching the movie is only meant to be consumed if you want to have a fun time watching some street dancing competitions for the comfort of your theater seat.

And that is all for now.
Thank you.

that's all for now.

wow.

Well, haven't really been on here in awhile, eh? Just a little bored at the moment. It's summer. I'm swimming, shocker? Yeah. Anyhoo, I've just been chilling and hanging. Same old, same old.

Movies:
Movie Reccomendation of the week: Toy Story 3.
Definite must see. Forget Eclipse, forget Adam Sandler, forget Jona--wait, no don't forget to check out Cyrus. http://www.notmileycyrus.com/

Internet:
So, I was checking in on the tweetsosphere ( http://www.twitter.com/sleevey12 ) and I was looking at all the celebs who have twitters and you know there was Kim Kardashian, Ashton Kutcher, Pee Wee Herman. And one that really shocked me was: Teller, from Penn & Teller. You know, the guy that NEVER talks. yeah, well, wouldn't a twitter be kind of irrelevant for him? I don't check it out for yerself. Also, if you have an extra hour or two to waste, check out Cleverbot. It's a little strange but fun. I've stumped it multiple times. I guess I'm just more clever. Shows that machines will never stop me. So take that!

Sports:
YAY! World Cup, Germany is being awesome. Thanks to Paul the Octopus! Never heard of him? He's a wise English octopod that predicts soccer matches. He's rooting for Germany. Wimbledon was won by the tennis star Rafa Nadal. Baseball is baseball (Go Brewers and Phillies!) and the new kid on the Nats is pretty darn good,  and golf is well, golf.

Music:
Oh little sweet Disney pop princess has officially hit rock bottom, with her new cd that just came out Miley Cyrus has just left me disappointed. I had pretty much finished with her when she started dating that underwear model guy, what was his name? Oh yeah, Justin Gaston or something like that. Odd. Anyways, she came out with that "Party in the USA" song that wouldn't get out of anyone's heads for weeks on end. Seriously. How annoying can someone screeching about Jay-z and Britney and her hips going "yeah" be? How can hips go "yeah"? I know that they can't lie, but man...the music industry sure has some screwed up ideas of hips. Apparently, they can talk. I mean, Shakira, Miley, and that 3OH!3 group say it all. I say, forget them and listen to some real music. Now, normally I'm not a fan of mainstream music but there are a couple catchy tunes out now. Lady Gaga has that confusing "Alejandro" song but just make sure you don't say her name. Roberto, Fernando, that means you. Vampire Weekend has "Jonathon Low" which is not their best song, but hey, it was from/for the Eclipse soundtrack. Justin Bieber or Justin Beaver, as I like to call him, has that "Somebody to Love" song out and I must admit he almost sounds like a boy now. However that song is a little bit too catchy. Hear it once and you'll be stuck with it for the rest of the day, which is fortunate for the Bieb since people will remember that little song and buy it. Lucky boy. Katy Perry has been topping the charts with the old-ish song from a few months ago "California Gurls". It's a little slow and not as much fun as her other songs, but it's alright.

World:
Oil spill is still another worry line on people's foreheads, especially the liberals. Hawaii has been having wild fires and they are blaming it on fireworks, yeah right. Some dude built this little "primitive" nuclear reactor. However I don't think any type of nuclear reactor can be primitive. Obama is pushing to let Latinos have a say in the votes.

Odd News:
OH! And in Germany, I just found out that it is a law there that you absolutely have to name your child a name that you will be able to tell what gender it is just from the name! I like that law. No more boys named Ashley and no more girls name Phil. All is right with the world, in the naming sense.
In New Zealand, you aren't allowed to name your child anything offensive. Here are some examples: Stallion, Yeah Detroit, Fish and Chips, Twisty Poi, Keenan Got Lucy, Sex Fruit, Satan and Adolf Hitler
Truthfully, my favorite is the Sex Fruit one. I just wonder what was going the parents mind when they decide that was an acceptable name to give their child for the rest of their life. I can just see it now, "Hey Sex Fruit! Go clean your room!" I got a good laugh out of that name. However here are some of the accepted names: Benson and Hedges (for a set of twins), Midnight Chardonnay, Number 16 Bus Shelter and Violence. Okay, Midnight Chardonnay is a little strange, but Number 16 Bus Shelter? These people really want to remember stuff don't they?
But, the strangest name that takes the cake is a rejected name from Sweden and here it is: "Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb111163". You read that right. The thing is it's pronounced "Albin". It reminds me of that Betty White sketch from SNL.
Census taker: What's your name?
Man: Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb111163
Census taker: How do you spell that?
Man: A-L-B-I-N.
Census taker: Uh huh, so your name is Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb111163 but it's spelled Albin?

Anyways, this is Sleeve signing off. Have a good night.

Hi.

Well, hello again. I had the play yesterday and it went fantastically! I was told I should win an Oscar for my performance. I suppose being nervous about being the lead in the play is just plain dumb. I had nothing to be nervous about.

School is (almost) out for summer.

Whoo! Okay, so school is ALMOST OUT! yes!!!!! I obviously for one cannot wait.
Hope everyone is doing fine.

Sport it up, eh?

HA! Well, I'm going to let you know right now, that I hate the LA Lakers, and guess what!!!
THEY LOST LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!! YES!!

Okay, in other news, Colt McCoy (UT Longhorns QB last season) was drafted to the Cleveland Browns. Yes, I know...saddening isn't it? He doesn't seem too pleased, but hopefully he will get traded to some really cool team. Like...the Patriots! or the Cowboys! Actually, no. The Tennessee Titans! Yeah!

Okay, well, I was watching baseball the other night. (Philles v. The Braves) and dang! Halladay is one of the best pitchers I have seen in a long time! By the 8th inning he had SIX strikeouts! Amazing. Hall of Fame worthy in my eyes. Also, The Brewers have been suffering to the Chicago Cubs (BOOOOO!) I for one dislike the Cubs strongly. I know they have a cute mascot and all, but it really isn't. Sorry. No. Bye. Hasta. la. Vista. Baby.

Ho-la-la-la-la

Que paso, amigos?
Well, okay, I saw 3 movies since my last post...
Kick-Ass = A-
Oceans = B-
The Losers = D+

So, enjoy?
This weekend has been pretty dudtastic. Haven't done much. School is almost over and I'm just anticipating the play. Yes, that's right. I am in a play. The lead actually. Well, it's called the Witch on Trial, and I play the witch. It's pretty cool I suppose. It's only experience so I can move on and do bigger stuff. Like my documentary over the summer (start filming soon!!)
I have discovered that I really like Joan and the Jet's "I Love Rock and Roll" it's an amazing song. It reminds me of life sometimes. Don't ask me why, I don't know.
I watched the iconic film, Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino, great guy). Probably one of the coolest movies I've seen in awhile. I loved it!

Let's see...we bought Avatar last night and I have to say that I for one am extremely glad it didn't win Best Picture at the Oscars, without the 3D the movie just isn't Oscar-worthy. I don't really have much left to say...except Hi Megan! =D

Amigos!

Hola amigos!

Well, I went to the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. on the 2nd with my good friend Clefairy. Here is a picture of one of the trees.

This picture is of me lying down and taking a picture of the Washington Monument.

I really enjoy this whole "taking pictures" thing.
I took this picture of a seagull flying above the cherry blossoms, I like seagulls because they are just free spirits and they look so at peace when they fly. When I get older, and have my own production company for movies, this will be my company name and probably picture.

How to Train Your Dragon movie review

From the creators of "Kung Fu Panda", "Shrek", and "Madagascar" comes "How to Train Your Dragon". Based on the book "How to Train Your Dragon" by Cressida Cowell, a story about burly vikings who live in a village that has a big pest problem. The pests? Dragons.
This tale follows the young Hiccup (Jay Burechel), who couldn't possibly be a scrawnier or weaker. He dreams of being a viking like his father and he wants to kill dragons.

The story is very cleverly directed and nicely casted with Ugly Betty as the beautiful crush of our main character Hiccup played by Jay Burechel. Gerard Butler plays Stoick, Hiccup's father and the village's chief. It also has funny people, such as Kristen Wiig (from SNL), Jonah Hill (Superbad), and Craig Ferguson.

This movie has a very strong script and it was very cute. The main dragon, Toothless, was possibly the cutest animated character I have ever seen!

I give the movie

A-

Hello!

Geez, well it seems I haven't updated this little bugger in quite awhile....okay so it's been over a year! But you should know that I am loving life as it comes at me. I've learned to overcome the obstacles and just watch movies. Okay, so maybe watching movies won't solve things for you, but it sure as hell solves things for me. People ask me, "Why do you love movies so much?"

I love movies because everything is precise. Call me OCD, but I seriously do like things to go in an order. Now, I'm not talking about watching some cheesy, overpredictable G rated movie, I'm talking about the order in which things are done. Such as, Jack says his line, then the camera pans around at such and such a time. THAT type of order. So I guess, I'll use this place to just post movie reviews and links and stuff, but also to just talk about what I feel society is going through. Possibly, every once in awhile I'll post a life story. Who knows...

Well, I guess this is just the first post to many.

That's all for now.
